We talk a lot about getting “free press” for your real estate practice and this seems to be easier than ever before.

There are countless ways to grab attention throughout your local marketplace and you can then utilize those press releases in future marketing too! Everything from a best bidder sale to a recent luxury sale or even a Unique Selling Proposition can be utilized as a reason to capture attention within the media. You simply structure it as a press release and send it off.

If you do this correctly, it makes their life MUCH easier because they’d love to have news simply fall into their lap rather than searching for it all the time.

One of our members just closed on a home with a famous sports star so he got permission to use it in media. Others have sold homes for 104% of asking price so they structured a press release to position themselves as the professional Realtor being interviewed about how hot the market is.

You see this happening all the time but the problem is, it’s happening to your competition, not to you! It’s done by design and it’s done intentionally so maybe it’s time for you to start intentionally doing that for yourself?

Choosing just one charitable thing you can do each month not only helps society, but also gives you a chance to use it within the media so EVERYONE wins as you are paying it forward and helping others.

Maybe one month you get some free press about a USP you offer and the next month you get some press because you and some of your family members are giving back to your community or volunteering.

By the way, there’s no greater effect from these write-ups than having a prospect stumble across it when they google you. Since most news media companies also publish online, it gives you a greater internet presence showing all that you do inside and outside of the real estate sales world.

Become a media darling and profit tremendously. But you need to be strategic, consistent and purposeful about it. Hell, you may run for President one day!
