I call them “Transactional Agents” rather than “Career Agents”. We recently had a group coaching call about this.
Most agents are nothing more than transactional agents. They are out their “hunting for their next kill”. They are only as good as the next transaction they find and if they don’t find anything, their family doesn’t eat while they also take on MORE debt. These are the type of agents that depend on referrals from past clients which means that their paychecks are few and far between.
To make things worse, these agents simply aren’t willing to change. They are stuck in their ways which means they are also stuck with their current income.
They buy leads, sign up for services, try the next thing and keep complaining about all of them. The only way you’ll become a Career Agent is to build a REAL database, consistently feed that database and work it like crazy with a tried and proven system that keeps cranking out business for you like clockwork.
If I flew to your house right now and asked you to show me your database and the complete system you use to predictably crank out new business every month, would you be able to demonstrate it? Would I stump you with just a few questions or would you honestly consider this a “well-oiled machine”?
For the agents that are just buying leads, don’t really have a system for them and don’t add them to a specific database with a specific marketing funnel that simply works until they CLOSE on a house, they are really just Transactional Agents. And they will always struggle to find their next transaction. This will NEVER end for them.
I’m sure you’ll agree that most agents simply don’t take this career as seriously as they should. Actually, they BELIEVE they are really serious about it but their actions don’t show that it’s really true. It simply feels good to BELIEVE they are serious about their career but until you really buckle down, get a solid game plan in place and start working a REAL database every single minute of your work day on a consistent basis, you just won’t see production increases. Those Transactional Agents even tell others that they are serious about their business, yet they know deep down that in reality, they are their own worst enemy.
I choose to only work with Career Agents. I only want members that are serious about growth and profit and wealth and enjoying all the things in life that you and your family deserve. If that’s not your goal, you are in the wrong place. If you hold a flag up in pride because the few deals you do only happen because you have past clients, then you are in the wrong place. We are about success here. And this should be a true business and true career. If you are just trying to get your next transaction or two, that struggle will continue for decades and decades to come.
