Tired of Being Ghosted? Use This Buyer Re-Engagement Script to Reclaim Lost Deals

You show five homes. They nod. Smile. Say things like, “This one’s close!” “We just need to sleep on it.” And then? Silence. No text. No call. No response. You follow up once… then again… then again…

Nothing.

Welcome to the ghost town of buyer indecision—where time-wasters, fence-sitters, and overwhelmed looky-loos hang out.

Now here’s a hard truth you probably need to hear: If you’re constantly getting ghosted, it’s not just them. It’s your follow-up strategy. Because real buyers don’t disappear without a reason. They disconnect because no one gave them a reason to stay engaged. That changes today.

First: Understand Why Buyers Vanish

That phrase is the kiss of death. It screams: “I have no real reason to contact you, but I want to look like I’m working.” Buyers don’t need a check-in. They need a reason to re-engage. So here’s what you send instead:

The Re-Engagement Script That Gets Replies

“Hey [First Name], I saw something hit the market today that reminded me of what you were originally looking for—has anything changed on your end, or do you want me to shoot it over?”

Or this one:

“Quick heads up—one just came up that checks a lot of your boxes, but I’m guessing it’ll go fast. Want a sneak peek before it gets flooded?”

Now you’re giving them value. You’re showing leadership. You’re making it about them, not about your calendar. And guess what?

Even if they’re not ready, you’ve re-opened the door—and earned another shot at staying in the game.

Third: Match the Medium to Their Personality

Text ghosted you? Try video.

“Hey Sarah, just wanted to show you this one real quick—it’s got the wraparound porch and office you liked. I’ll shoot you the link, but wanted to make sure I didn’t miss a chance to get you in before it’s gone.”

Now they see your face. Hear your voice. Feel your energy. You’re not just another number in their inbox. You’re a pro who shows up like no one else.

Fourth: Don’t Be Afraid to Call It Out

One of the most powerful re-engagement lines I teach is: “I don’t want to be that annoying agent who keeps chasing you—but I also don’t want you to miss something amazing just because you didn’t know it hit the market.”

It’s honest. Human. Low pressure. And it re-establishes trust. Because the moment you stop sounding like a salesperson and start sounding like a real advisor—people listen.
